Hi bloggers!

This is my first post. It’s obvious I know. Lol.

Anyway. Contrary to my blog’s title. I am to start of this blog with a refreshing post. I am currently in Davao and it’s a holiday! For a Manila girl, Davao has a different set-up. Yes, I am in a city and some do call it Metro Davao, however Manila is still home… That practically sums up the main difference.

Since it is the last day of my officemate here in Davao, we thought of doing a little tour. We were late though… We started a little after lunch, which we regretted later on. Here goes. First stop, Crocodile Park. It’s about 20mins away from downtown. With the hundred peso entrance fee, it’s pretty much okay. You got it, lots and lots of crocodiles. We weren’t able to touch it though, DUH, as if I would dare try. No way Jose! Hahaha. There were lots of different animals.. Snakes (which were really scary), parrots (who keep on saying “HEEEELLLLOOOOOWWW”, yes like that!), rabits, ostrich, etc.. After the nearly 45min tour, we thought of going to the beach.

Yeeeeeees THE beaaaaaaaaaachhhhhhhhhhh!

Many people have mentioned the Samal Island. And ME, being the workaholic, haven’t been into ONE good place here (even a mall, mind you). I suck when I’m alone, I am amenable to that.

Going to Samal Island is pretty much like a total of 30-45mins from Downtown. 15-25mins from the Davao City pier to the Samal pier and 10mins going to the beaches by the habal-habal(motorcycle). Once you reach the beach, it’s nirvana! It’s a quick escape from the busy city. Enjoooooooy. There are a lot of amenities: jet ski, kayak, banana boat ride, table tennis, billiards, etc. Ohhh, and I’ve tasted the limited edition San Miguel Beer for the Oktoberfest. It is so the same as with the normal beers though. Seems like it was just repackaged, or I don’t know. Hahhaaa. We stayed there till a little past 8pm. Going back to Davao Pier, we rode a bus. And then the bus rode a barge(?). Nice experience, I swear. The bus dropped us off at the Magsaysay Fruit Market where we ate durian *yuuuum*! For two times straight, that has been our ritual when one of us are to leave for Manila. The good thing is, I do enjoy the food PLUS he always pays it for me. Hahaha. By 10pm, we’re back at homebase and back to reality. The escapade to Samal is enjoyable. Money-wise, 500 will be enough. It is an experience that one would want to do again…and again.

For now, it is.. Back to reality :)
